How to Bind Your Account’s 2FA via Google Authenticator

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a robust security measure that adds an extra layer of protection to verify a user’s identity before granting account access. By requiring two separate forms of authentication, it significantly enhances security against unauthorized access.

2FA is especially vital for protecting your crypto assets and Coingarage account. Even if a hacker acquires your password, they would still need the second authentication factor (such as Google Authenticator) to access your account, making it much harder to compromise your security.

Before getting started, please download and install the official BAuthenticator app on your mobile device.

Step 1

Log in to your  Coingarage account and click on Profile ikon then select Security

Navigate to the Security Settings:

From the left-hand menu, click on "Account" and then select "Security"

Step 2

Locate the Authenticator Option:

In the Security section, find the "Authenticator" option. It is marked as "Off" in the image, indicating that it is not yet enabled.

Click on "Manage

To proceed with enabling or managing the Authenticator, click on the "Manage" button located to the right of the Authenticator option. The button is highlighted with a purple arrow and box in the image.

Follow the Next Steps:

After clicking "Manage," follow the on-screen instructions to set up or configure the Authenticator for added security. This process is part of enhancing account security by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA)

Step 3

QR code and set up key

Use the provided buttons to download the authenticator app from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, depending on your device.

Scan the QR Code or Enter the Setup Key

Open the authenticator app and select the option to add a new account.

Option 1: Use the app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen (highlighted on the right).

Option 2: If scanning is not possible, manually enter the setup key (highlighted in the middle) into the app.

Backup the Secret Key

Save the secret key (highlighted in the middle) in a secure location. This is essential for account recovery if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Enter the 2FA Code from the App

After scanning the QR code or entering the setup key, the authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code.

Enter this code into the input field (highlighted at the bottom).

Enable 2FA

Click the "Enable 2FA" button (highlighted in blue) to complete the setup process.

Confirmation

Once enabled, your account will be protected with two-factor authentication. Ensure you test the setup to confirm it works correctly
